Tiger Translate Event - Sydney
After winning the 2011 Australian Tiger Translate award Matt painted live at the Sydney Tiger Translate event. The 6m x 3m canvas (shown above) housed a collaboration artwork that Matt worked on with Mongolian Artist, Lhagvaa Enkhbat. While in Sydney, Matt also painted the front external fascia of ‘Name That Bar’ with Korean artist, Junkhouse.
The next part of this journey sees Matt head to Mongolia in August to paint at the Tiger Translate Global Showcase.

It’s a Girl! ...and another Girl!
Matt painted this nursery mural for a private client, ready for the arrival of their twin girls.
A Slice of New York
Matt painted this piece for Australian Pizza Store chain, New York Slice. The physical artwork itself will take pride of place in the Directors’ office and will be used as the main image on the landing page of their website.

Matt WINS Tiger Translate Art Prize
Matt has been crowned winner of the Australian arm of the Tiger Translate art competition.
He was up against a fold of exceptional submissions, all with the theme of ‘Growth’ and containing some elements of the Tiger Beer branding in the artwork. Matts’ ‘BUTTERFLIGER’ painting as it was dubbed by those at Tiger HQ, will be packed up and transported to Sydney to be shown at the Australian Tiger Translate party in November. Here, Matt will spend 3 days painting and collaborating with a handful of artists from various parts of Asia, working on their concepts of East meets West.
As part of his prize, Matt will be sent to Asia in early-mid 2012 to represent Australia and compete in the Global Showcase, where he will paint live over several days in front of international art critics and art purveyors.
Matt named Charity Ambassador
After supporting this great children’s charity for years by donating artwork for auctions, Matt has now been asked to become an Ambassador for this foundation. Standing alongside accomplished businessmen and sports stars, Matt is looking forward to helping this foundation much more in
the future.
Global Party!
Matt highlighted Brisbane’s own Global Party at Alloneword Bar in Fortitude Valley with a live artwork. Balancing high above bar patrons, Matt brought to life a life size image from wine label and artwork sponsor, Vinaceous.

Check your local coffee shop, deli or anywhere you normally find your stash of creative postcard goodnss. Matt’s artwork was recently printed onto 15,000 cards and distributed across Australia.
Matt StewArt Exhibition Launch
With a launch night that was dubbed as “one of the best functions this year in Brisbane” by all media that attended, Matts’ solo exhibition was a complete success with all 25 pieces sold during the 3 day opening.
$2000 to Charity
The sale of Matts’ 2010 Archibald Prize entry recently raised $2,000 through a silent auction at the inaugural Food Spectrum Winter Charity Ball.
This money goes directly to the Cerebral Palsy League to help them purchase much needed equipment.

for a Courier Mail fashion photoshoot.
A big thanks to Laura Stead, fashion editor from The Courier Mail for shooting her latest style sets in Matts’ studio. This shoot featured on their online fashion blog as well as in hard copy form on August 5.
Matts’ partner, Anna Patterson from White Gold Boutique created the beautiful makeup for the shoot.
Up Close in Brisbane News

Matt has just finished a large scale artwork project at this cool Fortitude Valley bar. Consisting of a mixture of painted murals, stencil work and pastes-ups (including a 12m long design), this is certain to be a photographic and talking point among patrons at this venue.

Matt now has artwork stocked in the newly opened Happiness Place on Latrobe Terrace in Paddington, Brisbane. This much anticipated ‘colour wonderland’ stocks homewares and gifts direct from Great Britain and The United States and is different to anything else Brisbane has seen before.
Hang Matt!
Matt has designed a series of wallpaper patterns for Wallpaper Republic. These designs are already becoming favourites right around the globe, with customers ranging from private clients through to commercial architects.
Head in the Clouds
Matt will be showing a handful of pieces alongside fellow Brisbane artists, Benjamin Reeve & Cezary Stulgis for a one night only show. Matts’ trademarked fashion-skewed artworks will feel right at home in the Cellar Bar of Cloudland as they are ogled and purveyed by some of Brisbane’s fashion and social elite.
All Washed Up!
Formed, leaders in Australian designed and made bathroom products, have recently opened a store in Melbourne. Matts’ wallpaper design from Wallpaper Republic was chosen for their feature wall, to complement the minimalist design of this showroom.
No News Is Good News
Matt currently has several major projects on the go, all of which will be made known very soon on here. These consist of an array of individual works as well as a handful of exciting collaborations. In the meantime, we have taken the liberty to let you know that he is still very much alive and producing artworks on a range of mediums around the clock.
Off To Mongolia!
After winning the Australian Tiger Translate Art Prize in 2011, Matt is off to Mongolia 19 - 25 August to participate in the Tiger Translate event there. Here he will paint live with some amazing artists from around the globe, all brought over by Tiger to represent their various countries.
Mongolian Lamb is just called Lamb!
A week-long whirlwind tour of Mongolian’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, and surrounding areas saw Matt immersed fully into the country’s culture and heritage as part of the Tiger Translate event.
The Tiger Translate ‘Streets’ event on the final night went off smoothly and saw Matt and his two fellow Mongolian artist team mates, paint live in-front of a packed club in the centre of the city.
Leaving there with not only great memories and experiences, but a handful of close friends from around the globe, he is already planning a canvas series which will be heavily influenced by his time there.
Nova Brisbane gets artistic!
Leading Brisbane FM radio station, Nova 106.9, will soon become the latest recipient of Matts’ artistic creations. An 11 x 3 Metre wall in the foyer, followed by a smaller wall in their boardroom will receive murals depicting Brisbane in Matts’ signature style.
